News-
We are learning lots about Abraham Lincoln in Reading this week! Ask your child what he/she can tell you!
Last week the students finally added Mr. Potato Head's last piece and earned a potato chip party for good behavior. Students chowed down on Doritos today while doing our Team Time Tuesday activity, which was interviewing a classmate to gather info for our biographies!

Check out these pictures. See what we've been up to!

We've been working on making contractions this week so we performed some contraction surgery.
Meet "Dr. Ken Traction"!

This month we have been reading many David Shannon books! Here's just some of the work we did after we read the stories.
We made inferences while reading No, David!

We made connections while reading Alice the Fairy. Students wrote about what they would do if they had a magic wand like Alice.

We made predictions about who our Mystery Reader would be. No one predicted correctly though! Our September Mystery Reader was Mrs. Adams! She read Pirates Don't Change Diapers by David Shannon to the whole 2nd grade. Mrs. Adams even dressed up and talked like a pirate!

We wrote about what we saw, heard, and felt in the desert.

We wrote different types of sentences on apples and added them to the correct trees.

We had a very patriotic week when we learned about September 11th and the Star Spangled Banner.

Students who memorized and sang the Star Spangled Banner got a prize and were named National Anthem Stars.

Way to go Delaney, Madelyn, Connor, Josalynn, Nadia, Aiden, Kyle, & Cameron!
