Reminder! Please return your preferences for Parent/Teacher Conferences on October 18th. I am assigning times on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Fun Class News:
We had such an exciting day! Kiddos who are in my Reading class have been reading and learning about snakes this week. Today they got to see and touch a REAL python snake! A big thank you goes out to Tara's parents for bringing in thier pet snake. I really appreciate your help; it was SUCH a fun learning experience for the students!

We also got to do Pumpkin Math today to celebrate fall! Students practiced making estimates for the pumpkin's height, weight, circumference, and seed count. We then measured and weighed the pumpkin to see who guessed most accurately. Then students got to dig out the seeds and count them all! We found over 380!

This week we learned about the life cycle of a plant, so when were were finished with Pumpkin Math students were allowed to plant some seeds from the pumpkin. We will observe their growth over the next couple of weeks!

2-hour-delay makes for a busy, busy day!

I hope everyone enjoyed getting to sleep in a little bit this morning thanks to the fog! I know I sure did. Starting our day 2 hours late means fitting LOOOOTS of stuff into too little time. We did not get through our whole Math lesson this morning. Because of this I am cutting tonight's Math homework. On the weekly newsletter, it says students need to do Practice 2-2. However, we will be finishing 2-2 in class tomorrow. The only homework tonight is our DEAR Log.

Thursday Homework Change:

-- Leveled Reader (Students brought this home tonight.
                                                        It MUST come back tomorrow!!)
